category: Green Building Council LEED author:

The United States Green Building Council LEED certifies buildings that show a commitment to energy savings, whether that commitment is converting to practices that effectively conserve energy, retrofitting building elements with energy-efficient enhancements, or implementing projects that show energy improvements and lessen the building’s environmental impact. Green Building Council LEED boasts a diverse membership of green professionals, from architects to educators, who are all working hard  to meet national energy demands and create job opportunities through green building practices. The Council aims to build a workforce of green building professionals through its educational initiatives. Any person in the building industry can benefit from becoming a member of this new green building workforce. As energy efficiency becomes less cost-prohibitive and a more practical option altogether, the need for green building professionals is sure to increase.

Becoming a part of the green building movement is as easy as seeking professional development in green building practices, whether that is LEED certification training or another form of clean energy certification. The Green Building Council offers a wealth of opportunities for educational development, including conferences and seminars led by the people who are at the forefront of the green building industry. Green buildings are the way of the future, and in this suffering economy, green jobs are those most likely to see an increase. As clean energy grows less expensive, green professionals are making a name for themselves and finding sustainable revenue streams as their skills grow higher in demand.

Whether you are an experienced building professional or someone entirely new to the field, if you have an interest in making the built environment more energy-efficient, then the Green Building Council is the organization to join. Green buildings can create green jobs, and through your involvement in the Council, you too can work toward the goal of creating a generational appreciation of the built environment’s ability to exist in harmony with nature.
